Project Overview

This project involved the lighting design and system definition for a men’s leather goods boutique, conceived to enhance product presentation while maintaining a refined and intimate retail atmosphere. The lighting strategy was developed to clearly reveal the texture, color, and craftsmanship of leather products, supporting both customer engagement and staff efficiency without introducing visual fatigue or glare.
A layered lighting approach was applied, combining focused accent lighting for display shelving with controlled ambient illumination to guide circulation and define spatial hierarchy. Vertical illumination was used selectively to add depth to feature walls and cabinetry, ensuring merchandise visibility from multiple viewpoints while preserving a calm, cohesive visual environment.

Lighting Scope and Applications

Focused illumination is applied across display shelving, feature walls, and primary circulation areas to clearly articulate merchandise, architectural surfaces, and movement paths. This is complemented by controlled ambient lighting that establishes a balanced visual baseline, supports comfortable navigation, and reinforces spatial clarity while maintaining a refined, calm retail atmosphere that keeps attention on the products.
  • Accent Lighting: Focused on leather displays and shelving.
  • Vertical Illumination: Used on walls and cabinetry.
  • Ambient Lighting: Provides a calm, balanced background light.
