Project Overview

This project involved upgrading the interior lighting of a public bus station to improve passenger comfort, visibility, and overall safety. The lighting strategy supports clear orientation within waiting areas while maintaining strong visual connections to the outdoor platforms and surrounding landscape through extensive glazed façades.
The design balances functional illumination with visual openness, ensuring interior spaces remain well-lit without overpowering daylight or exterior views. Lighting levels and distribution were carefully coordinated to support passenger movement, waiting, and transition between indoor and outdoor environments.

Lighting Scope and Applications

The lighting scope covers interior public waiting areas, circulation zones, and platform-facing glazed façades. The approach addresses ceiling-mounted lighting, perimeter illumination along glazing, and wayfinding elements to ensure clear spatial definition, visual comfort, and safe movement throughout the station while preserving transparency and connection to the exterior.
  • Linear Ceiling Lighting: Continuous, uniform illumination.
  • Downlights: Localized lighting for seating areas.
  • Perimeter lighting: Enhances visibility along glazed facades.
  • Circulation and Wayfinding: Supports intuitive movement throughout the station.
